Mr Peter Dzhurkov

After completing his Master of Dentistry at the Medical University of Sofia in Bulgaria, Peter returned home to start a private dental practice, working alongside his wife Pavlina. The running of their successful family practice from 2001 until 2007 was only briefly interrupted when Peter joined the Arms Forces as National Service. In 2007 Peter was head-hunted for the ADP dental practice in Tewksbury, Gloucestershire. With a love for all things English, he accepted the position and relocated to the UK with his family. A year later he was offered a role in Bradford on Avon. Peter and his family made the city of Bath their permanent home and Peter took on the role at the Associate Health Centre Dental Practice in BoA, where he stayed on as a practitioner for the next decade. Alongside his work in Bradford on Avon, Peter oversaw the NHS Dental Mentoring Programme at Rodden Road Dental Practice in Frome between 2011 and 2014. There, he offered training, supervision, and support to newly qualified dentists and those relocating to the UK from abroad. With over 13 years of general dentistry in the UK under his belt, Peter has acquired invaluable and versatile experience. Since 2019, Peter’s skills and expertise have benefitted patients at Diplomat House Dental Practice in the market town of Blandford Forum in Dorset and now we are delighted to welcome him to our team at Bath Dental Excellence. Peter has a keen interest in Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry. Over the years, he has undergone extensive training in these fields and has worked with different systems like ‘Six Month Smile’, ‘Clear Step’ and ‘Quick Straight Teeth’ ‘Clear correct'. He loves working with vulnerable and anxious patients, dealing with preconceived fear and negative associations with dentistry which may stem from past events or traumatic childhood experiences. In his spare time, Peter is an outdoor enthusiast and Bath Rugby supporter. Among his favourite pursuits are surfing, paddleboarding, Kickboxing and mountaineering.
