Dr Andrew Sidebottom has completed higher specialist training (CCST) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and gained the gold medal for the exit FRCS. Having both dental and medical degrees and dual fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons, Andrew is registered on the GDC Specialist List for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and also Oral Surgery. During his career as a consultant, he has developed a practice which specialises in TMJ pain management and Facial Deformity and has a large tertiary referral practice in this area. Andrew is also the NICE and NHS England adviser for TMJ replacement, BAOMS Clinical Lead for TMJ and associate editor of BJOMS. He joined The Smile Centre team in 2009 and is a provider of the local IMOS referral service for Nottingham and also as a surgical provider of Dental Implants. Andrew is fully conversant with primary placement of dental implants and provision of pre-prosthetic bone surgery to both augment the ridge and fill the facial sinuses using autogenous and artificial bone. With his vast experience he is happy to provide both a supportive surgery role in provision of adequate bone foundation or to place the implants with the dental practitioner providing the restorative solution
