Graduating from the University of Leeds, Bryony joined the Royal Navy in September 2006 following completion of her VT training in NHS practice. Completing initial military training she gained her MJDF qualification from RCS Eng. Over an 18-year Naval career Bryony served in Kenya, Australia and on a number of ships at sea as a Dental Officer. In 2011 she completed her OMFS SHO training at QA hospital in Portsmouth and gained her MFDS qualification. Notably she was then the first Royal Navy dentist assigned to HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, Britain’s largest Aircraft Carrier, with responsibility for commissioning all aspects of the dental surgical facility. Bryony has also supported the Royal Marines and Special Forces with her broad military experience. Selected for promotion to Commander in 2019 she worked as a Senior Dental Officer and Foundational Trainer for new graduates gaining a PGCert in Dental Education in this role. She started her MSc training in Endodontics in 2022, and is currently working with the Defence Centre of Restorative Dentistry in Aldershot. Bryony has a keen philosophical interest in Buddhism and meditation and is Secretary of the Defence Buddhist Network. Bryony is married and lives in Portchester with her partner. Her interests include road cycling, hiking, and Yoga.
