Scott graduated with his BDS from the University of Dundee in 2006. Following a 2-year training programme in Edinburgh, having gained experience in Oral Surgery, restorative, Paediatrics, Special care Dentistry and Dental research, Scott went on to undertake an MSc in Restorative Dentistry through the University of Edinburgh as a Rural fellow, working both in Orkney and Edinburgh. Scott then worked at the University of Otago, New Zealand as well as in General Practice in the north Island, New Zealand. Prior to establishing Orkney Dental with his wife in 2014, Scott locumed in Shetland for a summer. Scott has been involved postgraduate education for many years – initially as a VT trainer and then as a clinical lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Edinburgh. Scott is the Chair of the Area Dental Committee and was involved in the establishment of the Local Dental Committee in Orkney. Scott’s clinical interests lie in restorative dentistry, dental implantology and oral surgery. Outside work Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Amy and their two young sons. Scott is a keen Sailor and enjoys spending time outdoors in the wonderful Orkney landscape.
