Akeel gained his BDS degree from the University of Jordan in 2002. He worked in different hospitals in the UK in oral and maxillofacial surgery. In 2004 he obtained the membership of the faculty of dentistry/Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MFDRCSI) followed by the fellowship in oral surgery and medicine FFDRCSI (OSOM) from the same college in 2007. In 2014, he obtained the board certificate in oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the medical council of Jordan. Akeel has a special interest in oral surgery and dental implants. He passed the exam of the diploma in implant dentistry (Dip Imp Dent) from the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2016. Akeel has also interest in academic work. He is the author of surgical books, and has many publications in very reputable surgical journals. He works as a specialty doctor in oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He runs their oral surgical lists both under local and general anaesthesia, he is also in charge of training trainee dentists at the same hospital. Akeel is married and has four children. Outside his work, he enjoys gardening, and likes to spend time with family.
