Dr Assif Ahmed

Dr Assif Ahmed joined in 2014. BDS (Lond) MFDS RCS (Eng) MClinDent (Prosthodontics) MPros RCS Edinburgh GDC No. 80970 Assif is our resident specialist in prosthodontics, which covers implant and restorative dentistry at Handside Dental Clinic. Assif qualified from the Royal London Hospital in 2002. After completing vocational training he gained experience as a Senior House officer in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery throughout the hospitals in Hertfordshire, including the QE2 Hospital, Welwyn Garden City. During that time he successfully gained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2004. Assif entered specialist training in Prosthodontics at Guys Dental Hospital in 2004. During that time he completed a Master in Clinical Dentistry with his research area focusing on tooth wear and the effects of acids in the oral cavity. Also during that time in 2008 he was selected by the International College of Prosthodontics for their mentoring program as one of the leading young Prosthodontists internationally. Throughout his career, Assif has been fortunate to be personally taught by some of the best clinicians both nationally and internationally. His particular interests are in aesthetic and implant dentistry as well as complex fullmouth rehabilitations, retreatment of failing dentistry, tooth wear and bite problems as well as complete or partial dentures. Assif is an examiner for Warwick University and a course tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
