Dr Matthew Byrne

Matthew Byrne is a GDC Registered Specialist Prosthodontist. He graduated from the University of Leeds in 2014. His clinical interests include the management of toothwear, dentures, digital dentistry, and the fixed and removable restoration of dental implants. Matthew completed his specialist training at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester, where he works as an honorary consultant in Prosthodontics. Alongside clinical work, Matthew works as a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Adult Dental Care at the University of Manchester. He is an established researcher, with research interests include quality improvement in oral care, developing research capacity for dental teams, and alternative care pathways for dentistry. He has had research projects funded by the European Commission, UKRI, and NIHR. He teaches on both the undergraduate dental programme and the postgraduate prosthodontics programme at the University of Manchester. Outside of dentistry, Matthew enjoys live music, the great outdoors and spending time with his family.
