Dr Mark Franks

I graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry with a BDS Honours degree in 2015. Originally from Chesterfield, I am delighted to be working within the East Midlands for Shine Dental Care. I am a conscientious member of the team and strive to improve the oral health of all my patients through providing patient-focused care. I involve each patient in their own treatment, enabling them to feel comfortable throughout and empowering them to maintain their result. Since graduating, I have developed a keen interest in the provision of root canal treatment and appreciate the challenging situations this form of treatment can sometimes provide. Having completed a Masters-level qualification within Endodontics through SimplyEndo in 2021, I feel comfortable undertaking a wide range of cases requiring this treatment modality. I particularly enjoy demystifying the myths surrounding root canal treatment and proving to patients that this treatment is not the awful experience their close friends or family members have led them to believe. In addition to my Endodontic training, I provide my patients with modern, high quality general dental care. This has been aided through the completion of further training in short-term orthodontics (Invisalign), same-day inlays, onlays and crowns (Cerec®) as well as a year-long advanced cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentistry course. Most recently, I have become a certified Bioclear clinician; enabling me to provide contemporary composite resin restorations throughout the entire dentition. Bioclear restorations can be placed to resolve a wide array of problems, including the restoration of a single broken down posterior tooth, more comprehensive composite bonding treatments involving the restoration of worn front teeth or the closure of black triangles (please see literature within reception for more details).
