Lee is a Specialist Oral Surgeon who works as a Consultant in Oral Surgery at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and also provides Oral Surgery care in a General Dental Practice setting. Lee grew up in the North East and graduated with honours from Newcastle Dental School in 2001. She completed an additional two years of training gaining further experience across the main dental specialities and gained her MFDS qualification with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2003. Lee went on to spend time in General Dental Practice in Alnwick before completing a junior doctor position with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) Department at Newcastle General Hospital. After realising her passion for Oral Surgery she went on to work as a Speciality Doctor in OMFS post at Darlington Memorial Hospital from 2006 - 2013. During that time she also completed the Diploma in Conscious Sedation (Dip Con Sed Ncl), passing with Merit. Since then Lee has continued to develop her surgical skills, having completed both Core and Extended Speciality Training in Oral Surgery at Newcastle Dental Hospital and the Royal Victoria Infirmary. In 2015 Lee passed the Membership in Oral surgery exam (MOral Surg RCS Eng) and she passed the Fellowship in Oral Surgery examination from the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDS OS) in 2017. Lee sits on Council for the British Association of Oral Surgeons and also is an active member of the North East Oral Surgery Network. Her Professional interests include the management of anxious patients and the education and training of dentists and junior oral surgeons.
