Stephen Shaffery qualified at King's College, London in 1989. After qualifying, he spent 4 years working in a number of hospitals, where he specialised in Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry, gaining a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, by examination, in 1993. Since that time he has worked in general practice with a special interest in Restorative Dentistry, Oral Surgery and treatment of the nervous patient using sedation. He was one of the first dentists in the country to be registered as a Specialist in Oral Surgery with the General Dental Council in 1999. He attends many Postgraduate Courses during each year to maintain high levels of Continuing Professional Development. He is an active member of The Faculty of General Dental Practitioners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is an examiner for the M.J.D.F Postgraduate Exam. Stephen was one of the first Oral Surgeons in the country to be awarded a contract for Oral Surgery by a local Primary Care Trust and is currently expanding this facility. Implant placement and restoration is available at our Practice and Stephen is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.
