Simon graduated with honours from University College Hospital London in 1978 and qualified as a Licentiate in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1979. The first period of his career was spent in the department of Maxillo Facial Surgery at University College Hospital London. He elected to return to medical school qualifying as a doctor in 1984. Then followed 5 years of medical rotations in London Hospitals. His special interest both as a tutor and in practice, is sedation dentistry and taking care of the very nervous patients. Simon was for 25 years a Senior Partner at Park Surgery medical practice in Chandler’s Ford, an NHS medical practice that had almost 17,000 patients. Simon has been involved in several dental practice partnerships, worked as a dental trainer and plays an active part of LDC Hampshire having previously been a chair. Simon is also a member of the board of SAAD, the institution for sedation dentistry in the UK. Simon’s career has been built on helping practitioners in struggling practices and teaching dentists and medics alike. Simon has a wide clinical base of knowledge with a special interest in sedation dentistry. Away from work, Simon is a keen sailor, rugby enthusiast and spends time enjoying time with his family.
