Dr Betsie Blignaut qualified as a dentist in 1986 at the University of Pretoria. She owned a private dental practice before relocating to the UK in 1991. Shortly after, Betsie joined The Parade Dental Practice in Ewell in 1992 as an associate and later became the Principal in 2001. Betsie has years of experience treating very nervous patients and often uses a sedationist to assist her. When patients are sedated, they are fully conscious and totally relaxed. This technique makes dental treatment easier for patients who experience anxiety, stress, or fear. Dr Blignaut is proud to treat patients that otherwise may not have the opportunity due to dental phobia. With a special interest in cosmetic, aesthetic, and restorative dentistry, Betsie stays current on the latest dental procedures, technology, and materials. She maintains her expertise by completing several study hours with different institutes – locally, abroad, and with home study. Betsie is happily married with one son and enjoys yoga, skiing, travelling, and assisting her artist son, Jenkin, in her spare time.
