After qualifying as a dentist in Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1992, Dr Visser (or GP as he’s known) moved to the UK and began practising in Dorset. Through his work with leading clinicians in Oxford, Dr Visser, a dental health visionary, has gained unique insights into what can be achieved by treating craniofacial pain and temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD). His major clinical and research interests include: Diagnosis and management of temporomandibular disorders, Orofacial pain and head and neck pain from a full body perspective, Interaction of the dental occlusion in musculoskeletal dysfunction. He also serves as a consultant on sleep disorders related to bruxism and sleep apnoea. Dr Visser developed the O Align Bite Impression System and accompanying jaw and TMJ alignment products. As well as TMD, Dr Visser also works with conditions in the fields of sports dentistry, dental sleep medicine, orthodontics and oromyofacial dysfunction. He frequently lectures nationally and internationally, and runs training and educational events.
