Dr. Jay T. Kanegawa is a second-generation dentist practicing at Aiea’s first dental practice established in 1954 by his father. A graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, he proudly continues a family tradition of providing gentle, family-oriented dental care. Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, Dr. Kanegawa achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at Troop 147 in Alvah Scott Elementary School. He is a graduate of Hanahauoli School, Punahou School, Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and Temple University Dental School. Dr. Kanegawa has served on the boards of the Association of Hanahauoli Alumni (former President), Punahou Alumni Association, Hawaii Dental Service (Delta Dental) (former Chairman of the Board), The New Dentist Committee of Hawaii Dental Association (former Chair), The Health Committee of Hawaii Dental Association (former Chair), and Kick Start Hawaii. Highlights: Hawaii Dental Service Board of Directors, 1995–2004; Temple University School of Dentistry Graduate; Second-generation dentist serving Aiea families. Dr. Kanegawa is also a trusted member of the American Society of Implant & Reconstructive Dentistry (ASIRD).
