Dr. Barats graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Dental School in 2000, followed by a residency in general dentistry at the university, where she taught and received advanced training in prosthetics, endodontics, surgery and cosmetic reconstruction. Before coming to the United States, Lana completed dental school at the University of Perm, Russia, graduating with high honours. She also donated her time treating underserved people in Russia and children in public schools, and published a book used in pre-school and kindergartens to teach dental health and hygiene.
