Dr. Self was born and raised in a small town in Northeast Texas. She holds a degree in Biochemistry from Baylor University and received her doctorate from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. After spending two years practicing in Dallas, she and her husband, Dr. Jonathan Oudin, relocated to Utqiagvik, AK where they worked on the North Slope for 3 years. In 2014, they headed south and now, with their two children, call Eagle River home. In addition to practicing dentistry at Alaska Center for Dentistry, Dr. Self also works with Healthy Smiles Forever, a non-profit nursing home dental practice in Anchorage and the valley. Her favorite part of being a dentist is that she gets to meet so many people and hear their stories. Dr. Self stays busy homeschooling her children, volunteering at church, and leading Book Club for Kids at a local homeschool co-op. She enjoys traveling around the world, and loves to talk about anything Disney-related.
