Dr. Ellis was born and raised in Gadsden. He graduated with honors in 1979 from Auburn University with a degree in Chemistry. Following graduation in 1983 from UAB’s School of Dentistry, he returned to Gadsden to open his family dental practice. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, and the Fifth District Dental Society of Alabama. Dr. Ellis has been married to Catherine Cantrell Ellis since 1981. They have three daughters; Dr. Cynthia Ellis Hill, Dr. Katie Ellis Haynie, and Dr. Cantrell Ellis Lowe. All three daughters live and practice in Gadsden. Besides working in his busy dental practice, Dr. Ellis has served his community through his church, First Baptist Gadsden. The church established a free dental clinic in January 2005 and Dr. Ellis has been providing free dental services to those in need since its inception. Dr. Ellis enjoys traveling, outdoor sports and spending time with family, including his ten delightful grandchildren.
