Dr Emily Payne

Dr. Payne has practiced dentistry since 2003 after graduating from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Fun fact, Dr. Viau and Dr. Payne were in the same dental school class! After graduation Dr. Payne completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency, also at MCV, and spent the beginning of her career in Richmond. While in Richmond Dr. Payne held many leadership roles in the local and state dental societies, and was awarded the Virginia Dental Association New Dentist Award in 2008. She received her undergraduate degree at Washington and Lee University with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Payne relocated from Virginia back to NC in 2012. She and her family love this area. She spends a lot of time cheering on her two boys playing soccer. Her family also enjoys spending time at the beach, hiking, and cooking. Dr. Payne aims to be caring and compassionate. She enjoys getting to know her patients and educating them on the dental needs so they feel comfortable at every appointment.
