Dr Courtney Smith

I recognized my interest in the field of dentistry at a very young age while growing up in Arlington Heights. Having spent many hours in a pediatric dental chair with my own complex dental needs, I developed a strong desire to help patients overcome dental-related anxiety and achieve a healthy, beautiful smile just like my childhood dentist had done for me. As a clinician, I strongly value the importance of patient comfort and recognize the irrefutable importance of the dentist-patient relationship. I pursued my undergraduate degree at DePaul University in Chicago and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Chemistry. After working as a dental assistant for one year, I went on to earn my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University in the greater St. Louis area where I graduated with honors in 2022. I am thrilled to be back in the Chicagoland area and to have become a part of Dr. Balas’ dynamic, compassionate team. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending time outdoors, learning about interior design, and restoring antique furniture. While I can often be found exploring new restaurants in Chicago with family and friends, I also enjoy getting out of the city to hike and tent camp.
