Dr. Shilpa Mailapur received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University and subsequently completed a three-year post-graduate residency program in Periodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry and training in IV sedation. Dr. Mailapur has obtained the highest recognition for a specialist in the field of Periodontology by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a distinction held by less than one third of practicing Periodontists. Dr. Mailapur regularly attends continuing education courses, to keep up with the latest in dental implantology, bone and soft tissue grafting and facial esthetics. Her personal philosophy for the practice is to provide comprehensive periodontal treatment with the highest quality of service. She believes strongly in patient education and comfort. She currently resides in Aurora with her husband and two daughters. She holds a First-degree black-belt in Tae Kwon Do awarded by World Tae Kwon Do Federation. In her spare time, she likes to bake, go for long walks and practice her kick-boxing skills.
