Dr. Alicia Rodriguez graduated from Enka High School in Buncombe County. She later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Dr. Rodriguez has been in practice in Asheville since 1994. Dr. Rodriguez is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Buncombe County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and honour societies including the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She is the past president of the Buncombe County Dental Society and the First District Component of the North Carolina Dental Society. Dr. Rodriguez is the recipient of the 2005 North Carolina Dental Society Commendation Award, received Special Congressional Recognition for Outstanding Service in the Community in 2002, and received the Minority Health Care Provider of the Year in 2002. She is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and has successfully completed the 5-year MasterTrack education program with the Academy of General Dentistry to earn the top honour of Master, Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD).
