Dr. Fertik grew up in Ithaca, New York. Graduated Cum Laude from Williams College in 1987, dental school at UNC Chapel Hill with Honors in 1991, and completed periodontal residency with Masters Degree in 1994. Taught at UNC Department of Periodontics for 3 years. Moved to Western North Carolina in 1996. Active member of American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, North Carolina Society of Periodontists, International Team for Implantology, Buncombe County Dental Society, and Henderson County Dental Society. Married to Anne with two boys. Enjoys family activities, golf, skiing, hiking, and cooking.
