Dr. Durden was born in Athens, Georgia and grew up in the surrounding area. He graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He completed his dental education with honors at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1989 and opened his Athens area dental practice in August of that same year. He is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He is past President of the Georgia Academy of General Dentistry and is also a member of the International Association for Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Georgia Dental Association, as well as a founding member of the Athens Dentofacial Interdisciplinary Study Club. Dr. Durden and the Winterville Dental team are dedicated to life-long learning, spending countless hours each year participating in courses on dental restorative techniques including full mouth rehabilitation, dental implants, TMJ and obstructive sleep disorders, craniofacial pain, and orthodontics. He uses a multi-disciplinary approach to dental medicine improving the health and wellness of all patients. He and his wife, Janine, have two children, Suzanne and Craig. Dr. Durden has also obtained his private pilot license.
