Mr Scott Lowry, D.M.D.

Dr. Scott Lowry grew up in Evans, GA where he attended Greenbrier High School. Dentistry became a career goal early in Dr. Lowry’s life, when he was able to visit a friend’s dental practice and see how affecting someone’s smile can lead to positive change in their life. He grew up as a lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan, and attended the University of Georgia (UGA) after his high school graduation. After his freshman year at UGA, he served a two-year mission for his church in Iloilo City, Philippines. Serving the people of the Philippines helped Dr. Lowry realize that his life was meant to be in the service of God, and those around him. Upon his return from the Philippines, Dr. Lowry finished his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Georgia. Before graduating, he met and married the love of his life, a fellow Georgia Bulldog and piano major, Merinda. They moved to Augusta for Dr. Lowry to pursue his DMD degree at the Dental College of Georgia, and stayed an extra few years to attend a specialist residency program in Periodontics. During their time in Augusta, the Lowry family grew by four children, who keep Dr. Lowry working hard to ensure their future! The Lowrys always dreamed of returning to Athens, and achieved that dream in June 2023. Dr. Lowry and his family love the energy of the city, the community, and look forward to serving you. We are so glad to have them join the practice!
