Graduated from Warren High School in 1978 and completed his undergraduate work at Michigan State University. He earned his DDS degree at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1985 and was in private practice in Clawson, Michigan before joining the United States Air Force Dental Corps in 2003. During his service, he completed 2 years of advanced education in a general dentistry residency program at Lackland Air Force Base at the Wilford Hall Medical and Dental Center. He received board certification in 2006. He was also the Deputy Director of United States Air Force, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, completing a year of advanced education in the general dentistry residency program in 2007 and in 2008. He purchased the practice in 2007 and has over 30 years of clinical experience.
