As a kid, I had no idea how to properly take care of my teeth—I was basically a frequent flyer at the dentist’s office. I had it all: cavities, braces to fix my overbite, and even a dental implant when I turned 18 because I was congenitally missing my second premolar. But surprisingly, I was never scared of any of it. If anything, each visit made me feel more confident. Seeing how much a dentist could transform someone’s smile inspired me to do the same. That’s what inspired me to become a dentist: I want to help others feel that same boost of confidence by providing compassionate, high-quality care. I’m a skier—once a fearless black diamond skier. I used to love the adrenaline rush of flying down the toughest slopes. But as I got closer to earning my dental degree, the thought of breaking a bone (especially my hand) became a lot scarier. So now? Let’s just say I’ve humbly returned to the intermediate trails… with all the caution of someone who really, really values their hands. Some people never grow wisdom teeth. It’s a genetic trait — and lucky for them, no painful extractions needed! Unlike me… I had all four taken out! My cat, Popo.
