Dr. Sean Sherry grew up in Iowa City, Iowa and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa. With a passion for dentistry, Dr. Sherry continued his education at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he received his DDS in 2011. After graduation, Dr. Sherry and his wife headed west to Oregon. After a short stay in Eugene, they ventured to the beautiful, picturesque city of Bend. They have called Bend home since 2013 and in the spring of 2021, Dr. Sherry became the owner of Deschutes Dental Center. Dr. Sherry is committed to pursuing higher levels of education in dentistry and delivering the highest standard of care to all of his patients. Since graduating dental school, Dr. Sherry has continued his education at the world renowned Kois Center in Seattle, known for its rigorous curriculum in aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. Dr. Sherry has also completed the Oregon Implant Continuum, a 10-month course focusing on implant dentistry, earning the accreditation with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Accreditation requires over 400 hours of Implant Dentistry continuing education, a written exam and an oral exam and is intended to demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Sherry has also earned his Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry. Only 6% of dentists have earned Fellowship status with the AGD, showcasing a commitment to life-long learning that far exceeds what is required by the Oregon Board of Dentistry to maintain a dental license. Both programs are multi-year journeys focused on preparing dentists to provide the highest level and quality care to their patients. Outside of the office, Dr. Sherry and his wife keep busy with their three goldendoodles (Riley, Cooper and Oliver), traveling, hiking, and exploring the region. Dr. Sherry also enjoys to golf as much as his free time allows.
