Dr. Maria Garubba grew up in Northeastern PA in the middle of the woods. Her family had friends who worked in dentistry and encouraged her to pursue this great profession. She took their advice and spent seven years at the University of Pittsburgh attaining her undergraduate degree and then staying for dental school, where she graduated at the top of her class. She then went on to The Ohio State University for a two-year general practice residency, where she treated medically compromised hospital patients as well as those from the general public of Columbus, Ohio. Following this, she earned her Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry - an achievement earned by only 6% of all general dentists. For Dr. Garubba, dentistry is enjoyable because it gives her the ability to flex her creativity, work with her hands, and connect with all kinds of people. She believes that with a good ghostwriter, ANYBODY's life experiences could become a best-selling memoir. In a single day, she can get 15 different recommendations for a restaurant just by asking one question of each patient. Dr. Maria is married to an artist, Keith, and together they have two daughters, Audrey and Sylvia. She can talk to you endlessly about books she'd recommend and must-see movies. She'll gladly accept your recommendations too. As much as she loves dentistry, her happy places are Disneyworld, in a theater enjoying a live performance, or on the couch in a family snuggle with a movie.
