Dr. McCalman grew up in Andalusia, Alabama. She attended Auburn University for her undergraduate education and received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences. She then completed her dental school education at UAB School of Dentistry where she received her DMD. Dr. McCalman loves dentistry because it allows her to combine her love for science with her desire to work with her hands and problem-solving skills. Additionally, it gives her the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with patients and contribute to their oral health and overall well-being. In Dr. McCalman's free time, she loves going on runs/walks, reading, and trying new recipes.
