Dr. Josefina Vazquez became licensed at the Institute of Higher Education and Medical Sciences in Villaclara, Cuba, where she received the Valedictorian Student Award before achieving her doctor of dental medicine (DMD) in 1987. She practiced general dentistry in Cuba, Spain, and the USA for more than 30 years, and as an orthodontist for more than 15 of those years. She received advanced training in the Postdoctoral Orthodontics program at the Mississippi University of Madrid in Spain, which she completed in 2008. Licensed in America at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark, New Jersey, receiving the American Association of Public Health Dentistry Award and completing her DMD in 2020. Worked at Sage Dental and other private practices for three years before purchasing the practice in 2023.
