Dr. Shea is a 1997 graduate of Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she received a Doctorate of Dental Medicine, a Certificate for Graduate Training in Periodontology, and in 2001 she received a Doctorate of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology. During her post-doctoral studies, she received the prestigious Dentist Scientist Award from the National Institutes of Health and conducted research on bone metabolism at Boston’s Children’s Hospital and Boston University School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedics. Dr. Shea is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Her memberships include the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Shea specializes in all aspects of periodontal treatment, including scaling and root planing, gingival grafts, periodontal surgery, and dental implants. She is passionate about educating her patients on the importance of periodontal health.
