Dr. Caballero was born and raised in Cienaga, Magdalena—a small town on the coast of Colombia, South America. He studied dentistry at the Universidad Metropolitana in nearby Barranquilla, where he earned his degree in 1988 at the age of 21—the youngest graduate in the program’s history. Upon graduation, Dr. Caballero completed a year of social service providing dental care to remote indigenous communities in Aracataca—the birthplace of the best-selling Colombian author, Gabriel Garcia Marquez. After working as an associate dentist for two years after returning to Barranquilla, Dr. Caballero moved to the capital city of Bogota to open his own private dental practice, where he worked for nine years.
In 1998, Dr. Caballero came to the United States to further develop his dental education. After years of extensive study and rigorous exam processes, Dr. Caballero began a post-graduate specialty program at cutting-edge Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There he completed two years of study in Nova’s prosthodontics program—focusing on the aesthetic restoration of teeth using bridges, crowns, implants, and dentures, as well as other cosmetic procedures.
In July 2004, Dr. Caballero moved to Seattle and worked as an associate dentist before joining Accent Dental Center in the summer of 2005. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, painting, the Burke-Gilman trail, and spending time with family and friends.
