Dr Nitchel S. Bastien

Dr. Nitchel Bastien spent her early years in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, before moving to Long Island, New York. During her undergraduate years at Boston College, she discovered her calling to dentistry after witnessing a loved one's transformative dental journey, realizing the profound impact of dental care on not just oral health but a person's entire sense of well-being. Dr. Bastien's leadership and commitment to community care were evident at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine early on. As President of the Student National Dental Association, she organized impactful oral health initiatives and graduated with honors in 2014. She completed a comprehensive General Dentistry Residency at Christiana Care Health Systems in Delaware, where she refined her expertise across various specialties. Dr. Bastien continuously pursues advanced clinical training to ensure excellence in patient care. Her professional distinction is reflected in her status as a Fellow at the Academy of General Dentistry, and she holds active memberships with the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Oral Medicine. Dr. Bastien is deeply committed to giving back to local and global communities. She has participated in multiple dental mission trips to Haiti and the Dominican Republic and now focuses on mentoring aspiring dental professionals. Her ability to connect with diverse communities is enhanced by her fluency in French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish, and she is currently learning Polish. Beyond dentistry, Dr. Bastien finds joy in traveling, dancing, weightlifting, cooking, reading, and family time. Her drive for personal growth and achievement echoes that of her professional life.
