After originally planning on going to medical school, visiting his father’s friend at his dental office changed Dr. Gioscia’s career path. 'I loved what I saw, I had this feeling that I was meant to help. Overall, dentistry intrigued me and here I am today.' Dr. Tom Gioscia attended NYU, graduating in 1983 and began working under Dr. Frank Sciotto (Dr. Joe Sciotto’s father). Because of his long history in working alongside the Sciotto family, Dr. Gioscia and Dr. Sciotto have built a great working relationship. 'I’ve known Dr. Joe since he was 17 years old and I still enjoy going to work and seeing him every day!' And, even after so many years in practice, Dr. Gioscia still has a keen interest in learning all he can about dentistry. 'I still take continuing education courses each year, and personally I go twice a month to stay up to date and on top of the newest techniques.' Dr. Gioscia has built quite a report with his patients over the years. Many of his patients actually enjoy visiting their dentist. 'I truly enjoy seeing my patients, and a lot of them even enjoy seeing me. Some patients have even stuck with me for over 30 years.' When Dr. Gioscia isn’t working, he enjoys fishing, cars, gardening and being outdoors. In Memory of my Son: Dr. Tom Gioscia’s son sadly passed away in 2008, and to honor and cherish his memory he helps facilitate a scholarship fund at Southampton High School.
