Widely respected for his achievements in general and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Michael has earned many levels of academic and public recognition, including being named a CT Magazine Top Dentist. Dr. Michael is a leading voice in modern dentistry as it becomes an individualized experience of health and wellness. He believes that dentistry can transform lives and serve the community. Dr. Mike is a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, the New Haven Dental Association, and the Shoreline Study Club. Dr. Michael is a “Fellow” in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) who has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and exemplifies to other dentists the importance of quality continuing dental education. To earn the FAGD, a dentist must complete a minimum of 500 continuing dental education credit hours, pass a comprehensive exam and have been an AGD member for three continuous years. The FAGD award means that your general dentist cares about long-term dental health for you and your family and demonstrates that concern by pursuing additional education. The Fellowship (FAGD) and Mastership (MAGD) Awards are two of the most rigorous continuing dental education programs today. They help your dentist stay up to date on the most current dental procedures in order to offer you the highest quality of care. Dr. Mike is currently pursuing his Mastership award. Dr. Michael is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a worldwide organization whose members have made a commitment to continuous study and training in the field of Implantology. He was awarded Fellowship status, an honor ICOI bestows on a dental professional who has demonstrated an exceptional interest in the advancement of Implant Dentistry by pursuing voluntary programs that evaluate and test their knowledge of implant dentistry by experts in the field. ICOI Fellows have been recognized by their peers and are local leaders as well as global ambassadors. Accordingly, Dr. Michael enjoys and has a strong focus on implant restorations, from simple to complex cases. Dr. Mike believes that if you can, and if you have the ability, it is your duty as a professional to help others. As a dental student, Dr. Mike was awarded the Community Service Award which recognizes contributions to the local community in the area of oral health. This spirit of volunteerism has continued over the years. Doc has volunteered his time and dental expertise locally and abroad. Every year, he proudly participates in the CT Mission of Mercy, providing free dental care to any patient in need – especially our own Connecticut natives. Michael Dental has sponsored many local youth teams and generously donates to Guilford charity causes. Additionally, he has volunteered at the Connecticut Special Olympics, the Southpark Homeless Shelter, and area senior centers. Abroad, Dr. Michael has volunteered with Doctors Without Borders providing dental care to remote Hatian villages.
