Benjamin T. Horgan grew up in Carson City, NV where he attended John C. Fremont Elementary School, Carson Middle School and graduated from Carson High School in 1996 (Go Senators). He continued his education at the University of Washington and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. While in undergraduate studies Dr. Horgan worked part time in a local Seattle dental office as a sterilization technician and chairside dental assistant shadowing and under the mentorship of a father and son dental team initiating an interest in the profession. While back in Carson City during School breaks he also shadowed his Uncle Thomas Horgan, a Carson City Dentist for 30+ years and would return to his High School job of working Valet Parking at the Carson Nugget. Dr. Horgan continued his education in Seattle by attending the prestigious University of Washington School of Dentistry. The University of Washington School of Dentistry consistently ranks in the top 10 Dental Schools worldwide and Dr. Horgan’s class earned the highest dental board scores in the nation his graduation year of 2004. Dr. Horgan received the prestigious Quintessence Publishing Award for excellence in Restorative Dentistry in his graduation year, an award given by the dental school faculty to a single graduating class individual who demonstrated academic and clinical excellence in operative dentistry during their time in school. Upon graduating, Dr. Horgan spent one year in Spokane, Washington working and gaining valuable clinical experience in a community health clinic. Dr. Horgan then returned to his home state and has been practising dentistry in Northern Nevada since 2005 and began a startup practice February 2007: Capital City Dental.
