He earned his B.S. in biology from California State University at Hayward before completing his dental doctorate at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1997. He then refined his skills through a residency at the renowned Cleveland Clinic, focusing on treating patients with HIV/AIDS and Alzheimer's.
