Born and raised in Palmer, Texas, Dr. Colby Cottongame graduated from Palmer High School as valedictorian of the class of 2010. Baseball was a constant in Dr. Cottongame’s life and took him from PHS to Navarro College in Corsicana where he played for the 2011 and 2012 seasons, winning the 2011 NJCAA World Series Championship in Grand Junction Colorado and playing in the 2011 TX-NM Junior College All-Star Game. Following his playing career, he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2014 with a degree in Biology. After college, Dr. Cottongame was accepted to dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he received the 2018 Clinical Excellence Award for his work in the pre-doctoral clinics. When not practicing dentistry you can find Dr. Cottongame sitting in a deer stand, taking in as many baseball games as he can or on a golf course often looking for a stray tee shot. He is beyond excited to be back home in Ellis County to provide the best possible treatment to the community that raised him and that he considers family.
