Dr. Jerry Chiu was born and raised in New Jersey, but is proud to call himself an Austinite. As a child, he dreaded going to the dentist, but the saving grace was the comfort and compassion he felt in the chair by his dental professional. Years later, as a practicing oral surgeon, Dr. Chiu continues to emphasize the importance of providing compassionate care, yet maintaining professionalism and delivering safe and outstanding surgical expertise. Dr. Chiu obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree at Columbia University. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the competitive Medstar Washington Hospital Center, serving as chief resident in the final year.
