As a young man Dr. Smith decided to follow in his parents' footsteps and work with his hands. 'My father is a surgeon and my mother is an artist. Dentistry is the perfect combination of the two.' He works hard to make sure his patients are comfortable. His patients appreciate his attention to detail, gentle hands, and clinical excellence. Dr. Smith was raised in Traverse City, Michigan. In 2012 he received his dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. During dental school he met and married his wife, Kate. They have three daughters. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Brigham Young University. To stay current, Dr. Smith participates in numerous continuing education courses. He has had extensive training in dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Smith enjoys mountaineering, camping, disc golf, reading, guitar, and spending time with his family.
