Dr. Spitzer is a graduate of Northwestern University Dental School. While at Northwestern, he worked for the Department of Human Microanatomy in the capacity of adjunct faculty. In this position, he was responsible for conducting students’ remedial lectures and laboratory sessions. He also completed an externship at the Presbyterian Home of Evanston, Illinois. He has volunteered extensively for the Peoples’ Saturday Morning Clinic. This is a free dental clinic held at the school and is devoted to providing dental care to children of underprivileged families. Soon after graduating, he worked on a military base overseas. During his time there, he earned the promotion of Chief Dental Officer, and he was tasked with overseeing all dental clinic operations. This position also offered numerous advancement opportunities which included extensive continuing education in root canal therapy and other aspects of general dentistry. After relocating back to Northern Virginia, Dr. Spitzer became busy with a private group dental practice, and in his free time, he supervised dental hygiene students in a clinic at NVCC. He later developed the curriculum for head and neck anatomy that is still taught to dental hygiene students at the NVCC and Germana community college campuses. Dr. Spitzer is an Invisalign-certified dentist, and has numerous continuing education hours in oral surgery, periodontal (gum) treatment, temporomandibular dysfunction, root canal therapy, pediatric dentistry. He brings more than 26 years experience to our office.
