Dr. Joe Herald grew up in Fort Thomas, KY, where he attended Highlands High School. He went on to college at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and graduated from Huntingdon college in Montgomery, AL in 2003. He then went to get his D.M.D. at the University of Kentucky where he graduated in 2007. He was the only student in his class to receive the Student Award of Merit from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He worked as an associate dentist for a few years in Lexington, KY before coming home and opening his own private practice in 2009. Dr. Herald is an avid basketball fan. In the past he has helped coach the Highlands Freshman basketball team, and continues to sponsor youth basketball leagues and the Highlands summer basketball camp. Dr. Herald is active in his church and community. He has served as a volunteer dentist with the Ida Spence Mission, helping provide dental care to community members in need. Herald is married to his wife Danielle, and they have three beautiful daughters Avery, Makenzie, and Layla. In his free time he enjoys golfing, trail running, and active outdoor activities.
