Dr Jonathan Spurgeon

Dr. Jonathan Spurgeon was born in Clarksville, TN and grew up on his parents’ sheep farm just outside of the city. Blending his love of science and art, he knew he wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of others as a dentist. Dr. Spurgeon received his B.S. in Chemistry from Clarksville's very own Austin Peay State University. He began his dental school journey at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) and met his best friend and wife, Melissa. After graduating from dental school, he moved to Alaska to complete his Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at NYU Langone Health. Dr. Spurgeon practiced general dentistry in Alaska for one and a half years, traveling to remote villages in nine-seater prop planes and soaking up the northwest’s outdoor majesty. Today, Dr. Spurgeon is providing exceptional, relationship-based dental care in Clarksville. Compassionate and meticulous, he loves working alongside each patient to craft brilliant smiles they truly feel proud of. Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Spurgeon enjoys working on his parents’ farm and cherishing quality time with his wife and daughter. As a local native and avid outdoor enthusiast, you can also catch him hiking and fishing throughout Tennessee’s stunning landscapes.
