Dr. Nekia Staley-Neither is a native Washingtonian. She is a very dedicated mother of four beautiful daughters and two sons. She grew up with a love of caring for others and has been involved with the special needs community since her elementary years. Dr. Nekia, as she is affectionately called, began her studies at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA as a Pre-Med Biology major. While there, she volunteered at the Hospital for Sick Children and continued to be of service to people living in shelters. After choosing a career in dentistry, she attended and graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. Continuing her philosophy to provide care to persons of all backgrounds, Dr. Nekia became a DECOD (Dental Education in the Care of Persons with Disabilities) fellow at the University of Washington at Seattle. There she trained to treat and accommodate mentally and physically challenged persons.
