Dr. Elizondo grew up in Kingsville, Texas, and graduated from H.M. King High School in 1983. He attended Texas A&I University as a Biology Major. Due to his hard work and commitment, he was accepted to Dental School a year early and left Texas A&l after three years. During his high school and college years, he worked for H.E.B. starting out as a bagger and eventually becoming an assistant service manager. He credits H.E.B. for a lot he has learned about how to operate a dental practice. In 1986, he was accepted in to the Dental School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and graduated in 1990. At graduation, Dr. Elizondo graduated with honors and received awards for his excellence in Prosthodontics and General Dentistry. Dr. Elizondo considered specializing in dentistry, but because of the fact that some of his role models in dentistry were what he considered "super generalists", he chose to pursue post-Doctoral training in General Dentistry. After interviewing at many hospital based General Dentistry Residency programs throughout the country, he was accepted to the Residency at San Antonio. He felt very fortunate as several of the interviewers commented about the program in San Antonio being the best in the country at the time. During this two-year program he received expanded training in oral surgery, trauma, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, TMJ treatment and periodontics. He also received extensive training in conscious sedation and airway management. Dr. Elizondo then obtained his state board certification in IV sedation and holds Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificates as well as all permits for parental IV sedation, enteral oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide anesthesia. He completed the program in 1992 and moved to Corpus Christi that summer. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and the Nueces Valley District Dental Society for the past 30 years. After working with another dentist for a few months, he decided to begin his own practice from scratch where the focus was to be the best in his field. With the help of his wife, Leslie, and one other employee they slowly built to what it is now. They worked very hard as they were the Dentist, the accountant, the janitorial service and the maintenance crew. Now over 25 years later, he is confident that he is one of the best in his field and strives to do so every day. The staff consists now of over 15 people all dedicated to being the best in their field of dentistry. He is very proud to help develop a team striving for excellence in service, care and quality of treatment.
