Dr. Vanessa C. Marinho received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1991 from Paulista University, Brazil. Right after graduation, she spent two years at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Dentistry, Periodontology Department in the Preceptorship Program where she participated in research projects, clinical procedures and co-authored research papers and a chapter in the 8th Edition of Carranza/Newman Clinical Periodontology book. In 1997 she earned a Master of Science Degree in Craniofacial Biology and a Certificate in Periodontics from the prestigious University of Southern California. During that time, she also participated in research projects focused on bone healing around dental implants. She was a clinical assistant professor both at UCLA and USC undergraduate dental clinics and was the recipient of a 5-year Award as a distinguished Part-time Faculty Member at the USC School of Dentistry. Dr. Marinho had practiced in Arizona in 2003 and was the owner and solo practitioner of her periodontal practice, Bellair Periodontics, for 18 years. She also led one of the national Spear Study Clubs in Phoenix for three years. She is excited to be back in California where she will continue her commitment to provide high quality periodontal treatment care to her patients. Dr. Marinho does that by pursuing knowledge in the latest modalities of treatment through countless hours of continuing education courses. Dr. Marinho is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology , the American Dental Association® , the California Dental Association , the Orange County Dental Society , the International Team for Implantology and the Academy of Osseointegration .
