Dr Gary T. Bishop

Born and raised in the scenic mountains of Northeast Georgia, Gary Tyrone Bishop DMD (Dr. Bishop) has always been driven by a passion for excellence. A standout athlete at White County High School, he achieved the state title in weightlifting and earned a reputation as a dedicated student, graduating with honors. His commitment to service is also evident through his numerous accomplishments, including earning the Eagle Scout, Silver Eagle, and Quartermaster Award (Sea Scouts). Dr. Bishop continued his academic success at North Georgia University, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Prior to dental school, he furthered his education with a Master’s in Secondary Education for Science from Brenau University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta. It was during his first year of dental school that he met his future wife, our very own Dr. Katie Fadler, a fellow classmate. The two married shortly after graduation, and together, they share a deep commitment to their work and their community. Dedicated to staying at the forefront of dentistry, Dr. Bishop actively engages in continuing education, particularly in the areas of evidence-based dentistry and medicine. His special interests include surgical dentistry, molar root canals (endodontics), implant dentistry, and full mouth rehabilitation. Certified in sedation dentistry, he offers more options for a comfortable dental experience. Passionate about utilizing the latest technology, Dr. Bishop is focused on preserving natural teeth and replacing them when necessary. He has received advanced training in CEREC technology and is highly skilled in the fabrication of same-day crowns, bridges, esthetic crowns, onlays, and veneers. Above all, Dr. Bishop carefully evaluates each patient to determine the most conservative treatment options to preserve teeth and enhance overall oral health. With his southern gentleman charm, Dr. Bishop strives to create a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. He truly cares for the well-being of his patients, recognizing that dentistry is about much more than just teeth. In treating his patients’ teeth, he endeavors to improve function, esthetics, and the quality of life for everyone he serves. In his spare time, Dr. Bishop enjoys working on his truck and muscle car projects, training in the gym, reading, hiking, traveling, and relaxing with family—all while cherishing each day with the love of his life. He is excited to continue serving his community and looks forward to helping new patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles in Cumming, GA.
