Dr. Matthew Lewis was born and raised in Macon, Georgia but now calls Blue Ridge home. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Bulldog pride. Dr. Matthew completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, now Augusta University’s Dental College of Georgia. He continued his dental training with a surgically based general dentistry residency program in Augusta, gaining a wide range of skills in both general, sedation, and surgical dentistry. Dr. Matthew has worked with an Atlanta-based practice and has worked part-time in Blairsville where he fell in love with the North Georgia community and lifestyle. Outside of the office, Dr. Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife Kassidy, sons Luke and Daniel, and dog Milo. He enjoys leading his crew on adventurous trips on and off the beaten trail. With a goal of visiting all of the national parks, the Lewises are always planning their next park trip. Dr. Matthew does a guest DJ appearance every so often in town which continues to fuel his passion for music. If you know of any good music coming to town or have any secrets to keeping a healthy garden chat him up and share what you know! Dr. Matthew is an avid gardener and is currently building a tea garden. If the season is right and the flavor suits you, see if you can help take some jalapeños off of his hands.
