Dr Richard J. Anderson

Dr. Richard J Anderson graduated number one in his class both academically and clinically from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1979. He has continued to set a high standard in his dental practice in an effort to deliver excellence in care within a warm environment of trust and caring. In a search to be able to deliver the most comprehensive care possible, Dr. Anderson has studied with national and international leaders and has compiled a long list of advanced education. This includes a two year course of study in orthodontics and orthopedics and also a one year program in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. He continues to seek out the latest in advanced techniques, and high technology to benefit his patients. In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Anderson was elected to membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society, which includes only the top 5% of dentists nationwide. He also has been listed as a "Top Dentist" in Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine. Dr. Anderson has also been active in giving back to the educational process, having been a clinical associate professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in the Advanced General Dentistry Program, a post graduate program for dentists to obtain additional experience and education following dental school. He held the position of clinical coordinator and has lectured in areas including orthodontics, full mouth reconstruction and office management. Dr. Anderson came to dentistry with a background in engineering. This includes a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's in biomedical engineering. Applying engineering to dentistry enables Dr. Anderson to understand the science behind the materials and techniques he uses, as well as appreciating the importance of strong, healthy teeth and gums, and the benefits a beautiful smile can have.
