As a seasoned clinician with nearly 30 years of experience, Dr. Guillen has had the absolute honor of helping thousands of fantastic patients. He takes great pride in changing lives for the better through his dental skills and is always striving to do as much as he can for people in need. Dr. Guillen was born in Brownsville, TX but spent his formative years living across the river in Matamoros, Tamaulipas with his family. His father worked in Brownsville as an air conditioning technician and his mom stayed home to care for the children, later opening a small family-owned store. Both parents worked hard, inspiring Dr. Guillen to pursue a career to support them. Initially studying radiologic technology, he switched to dentistry after befriending a dentist. He graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1992 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Rio Grande Valley Dental Society. He has pursued continuing education in TMJ disorder/oral appliance therapy through Spencer Study Club, dental implant restoration through UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, and orthodontics through Rondeau Seminars. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his pets and two grown children, Teresa and Ryan, sports, exercising, cycling, reading, fishing, meditating, traveling, and time with loved ones.
